For Plural
To ask or say “may or “can”
use “E mafai ona”
you can decide whether to follow with the action or with the person
If you say the person first use the short form of the word
ex: lua, ma, la, tou, ta instead of oulua, maua, outou, taua
Follow this by the action word and follow the action word with the adverb you choose
If you use the action word first follow it with the adverb then follow that with the long form of the word to refer to the person.
The form of the action word and the adverb must change to match the person doing the action.
If there is more than one person performing the action the plural form of the action word and the plural form of the adverb must be used (instead of “vave” use “vavave” for “fast”)
(Instead of “tagi” use “fetegisi” for “cry”)
Not all action words and adverbs have a different form when pluralized.
Just like “ia” (he/she/it) there is no other form for matou, tatou, and latou
Use the same form and simply change the placement of the word to negate the question or statement “I may not” or “I can not” add the word “le” before the word “mafai”
